Contributions

- When writing the script. I conducted research on historical events and figures, cultural customs, or other topics to make the story as historically accurate as possible.

- During rehearsals, I worked closely with actors to refine the script and ensure that it is properly realized on stage. Making changes and adjustments to the script based on feedback from the actors during the rehearsal process to improve the play's flow or address issues that arise during staging and to ensure that the play aligns with the purpose of the project which is to educate the audience.

Takeaways

From this project, I have learnt:

- To say "No". I've always found it hard to say no, whatever people say, I would nod my head in agreement. But after the role of playwright and director fell on me, I had to learn to "own my work". Whenever someone gives me a suggestion about how a certain scene should go, I had to weigh the pro's and con's of their suggestion and whether it would actually improve the script, and say no when it doesn't.

- To own my work. To take ownership of my own work and to be proactive in and understand the purpose of my job role and duties. To hold myself accountable for my work instead of letting someone else tell me what I should and should not do.

Project Deliverables

My Team's deliverables for this project is to design and produce an immersive trail, integrating it into their regular guided tour by the docents to provide the audience with an entertaining while educating experience.

- Project planning.
- Research for historical accuracy and ensure scenes are relevant to the information displayed in the area the scenes are blocked.
- Cast Actors and coming up with contract of service.
- Look for rehearsal venue and conduct rehearsals.
- Source for costumes, sets and props.
- Alteration of costumes.

This Final-Year Project is a immersive and interactive guided dramatized tour to educate youths about Singapore's history during the Second World War. Using a mix of lectures by the docents and performance elements to keep the audience entertained while learning.
